3 years ago i bought a phone from cingular now att.
it was a pay as you go plan.
we have not used it in the US for 2 years.
now we want to start using the phone again in the US on a pay as you go plan.
do i need to buy a new chip?
or just sign up for another pay as you go plan.
we cannot have a monthly plan.
thanks
PS roaming? does it matter if i buy the plan in WA or where we will be for a few months CA?

Re: do i need a new sim card?
yes u will be able to use it, as long as its a GSM phone u can use a sim card. u might be locked to a specific carrier that is if its a locked phone, but we do have wat they call unlocked phones which any sim card will work with as long as that sim card is activated. hope that helps

yes of course you must buy the new one, because your sim card had already expired
