Backing Up Applications:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "All Apps" icon
  2. Browse for and open "Settings"
  3. Tap "Backup & reset" under "Personal"
  4. Mark the check box associated with "Backup my data"
  5. Tap "Backup account" and select the account on which you wish to backup the data. Alternatively, tap "Add account" to add a new account, and follow any additional self-explanatory steps

Backing up Contacts:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Phone" icon
  2. Tap the "Contacts" button located in the top-left corner
  3. Press the "Menu" icon located in the bottom-right corner
  4. Tap "Back up contacts" and choose one of the following backup methods:
    • Back Up on the SIM Card:
      1. Tap "SIM card"
      2. Select the desired contacts. Alternatively, tap "Mark all"
      3. Tap "Back up" and if prompted, select either "Add contacts" or "Replace all contacts"
      4. Tap "OK" to confirm
    • Back Up on the SD Card:
      1. Tap "SD card"
      2. Press "OK" to confirm

Backing Up Media Files Using the Smartphone:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "All Apps"
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Browse for and tap "Storage"
  4. Tap "Transfer data to SD card"

Backing Up Media Files Using a Computer:

  1. Using the USB cable, connect your smartphone to your computer
  2. When the Windows Explorer window appears, click "Browse files"
  3. Open the device's "Internal Storage" directory
  4. Navigate to the desired media files, and copy them
  5. Paste the media files in the desired location on your computer
  6. Once the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" and click "OK"
  8. Disconnect your smartphone

Restoring Applications:

  1. While viewing any of the home screens, tap "All Apps"
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Personal", tap "Backup & reset"
  4. Tap "Backup account" and select the desired account
  5. Mark the "Automatic restore" check box

Restoring Contacts:

  1. From the home screen, open the "Phone" application
  2. Press the "Contacts" icon located in the top-right corner
  3. Tap the "Menu" icon located in the bottom-right corner
  4. Select "Import Contacts" and perform one of the following steps:
    • To restore from the SIM card:
      1. Tap the contact that you wish to import
      2. Alternatively, tap "Import all"
    • To restore from the SD Card:
      1. Tap "SD card"
      2. Choose the vCard file containing the desired contacts
      3. Tap "OK" to confirm

Restoring Media Files From a Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between your smartphone and PC via USB
  2. When the Windows Explorer window appears, select "Browse files"
  3. Access your device's "Internal Storage"
  4. Open a new Windows Explorer window and go to the folder where your media files have been saved on your PC
  5. Copy the desired files and paste them on your smartphone's internal storage
  6. Once the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" and then "OK"
  8. You can now disconnect your smartphone
