Using a Google Account:

NOTE: Using a Google account you can sync the contacts on the Xperia Z1s, and then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Xperia Z5 Premium.

  1. If necessary, sign in with your Google account on the Z1s
  2. Go to the “Settings” menu
  3. Tap “My Accounts” > “Google”
  4. Tap your email address or user name
  5. Turn on “Sync Contacts” and tap “Sync now”
  6. Switch to the Z5 Premium, sign in with the same Google account, and allow it to sync contacts with your phone

Using “Contacts”:

NOTE: The Contacts application on the Z1s can be used to export your contacts as a vCard file. You can then transfer the file, and import it on the Z5 Premium.

  1. On the Z1s, tap “Phone”
  2. Access “Contacts” and tap “Menu” > “Export contacts”
  3. Select the contacts you want to share or tap “Mark all”
  4. Tap “Backup” > “Add contacts”
  5. Once the backup file is created, launch the email client and compose an email containing the backup file as an attachment
  6. Send the email to your own address
  7. Switch to the Xperia Z5 Premium, open the email and download the attached backup file
  8. Open “Contacts” and tap “menu” > “Import contacts”
  9. Select the backup file’s location, and import the vCard to your phonebook

NOTE: Once you have created the backup file on the Z1s, you can transfer it to the Z5 Premium by connecting both smartphones to a computer via USB, and copy > pasting it from the Z1s on the Z5 Premium storage.

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another method you can use to transfer your contacts is through Send Anywhere. This is a third party application that uses a P2P connection to transfer content from one phone to another without requiring a computer.

  1. Launch the Play Store and install “Send Anywhere” on both Sony smartphones
  2. Open the application on both devices
  3. On the Z1s, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  4. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
  5. Lastly, choose a transfer method. You can tap “Receive” on the Z5 Premium and manually enter the transfer code from the Z1s, or tap “Generate QR Code” on the Z1s and scan the code with the Z5 Premium camera
