Sync iPhone Contacts via iTunes:

NOTE: You can use iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet in order to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then, you can sync the account data – including contacts – with the Sony Xperia E5.

  1. Connect the iPhone to your computer using the Lightning cable
  2. Open iTunes on the computer and access the “Info” section
  3. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  4. Sign in with your Google account, or alternatively you can click “Configure” and select an existing account
  5. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  6. Once the sync is done, switch to the Sony smartphone, register the same Google account, and allow the account to sync contacts with your Android device

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer with an active Internet connection and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Log in to your iCloud account
  3. Select the contacts you wish to share
  4. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  5. Once the vCard has been downloaded, follow one of these steps:
    • Use the Internet browser on the computer to import the vCard via “Google Contacts” or:
    • Connect the Sony Xperia E5 to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use “Contacts” to import the vCard to your phonebook

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: The methods above require a computer with access to the Internet, but alternatively you can also share your iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an app for iOS, which can be used to back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup”
  3. Once the vCard is created, tap “Email”
  4. Make sure the vCard is attached to the email and send it to your own address
  5. Switch to the Sony device and open the email
  6. Download the attached vCard and import it via “Contacts”

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app (for both iOS and Android) which can be used to transfer contacts and other file types cross-platform through a peer-2-peer connection, without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Google Play Store and install the app on the Sony Xperia E5
  3. Launch the application on both devices
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send”
  6. Choose a transfer method and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
