Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Contacts
- Go to Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for the backup
- Tick the Contacts check box
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: You can restore the contacts next time you log in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and paste the backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
