How-to: Sony Xperia XA1 Plus: Manage Calls, Messages, and Call Forwarding

Block Incoming Calls:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Go to “All contacts”
3. Select the phone number/contact you want to block
4. Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
5. Enable “All calls to voicemail”

Unblock Calls:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Access “All contacts”
3. Select the contact you want to unblock
4. Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
5. Turn “All calls to voicemail” off

Block Messages:

1. Open Google Messenger
2. Select the conversation thread exchanged with the contact/phone number you want to block
3. Tap “Menu” > “People & Options
4. Tap “Block [phone number]”
5. Press “OK” to confirm

NOTE: The conversation thread and future messages from the blocked contact will be archived. Additionally, notification alerts are disabled for archived messages.

Unblock Messages:

1. Open Google Messenger
2. Tap “Menu” > “Archived”
3. Tap the conversation thread exchanged with the contact/phone number you want to unblock
4. Tap “Menu” > “Unarchive”
5. Press “Menu” again and access “People & Options”
6. Tap “Unblock [phone number]”

Enable Call Forwarding:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
3. Access “Call forwarding” (NOTE: this option might be unavailable if it isn’t supported by your carrier)
4. Enter the phone number you want to use for call forwarding. Alternatively, select a contact from the phonebook
5. Tap “Enable”

Enable Conditional Call Forwarding:

1. Open “Phone”
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Go to “Settings”
4. Tap “Call forwarding”
5. Choose to forward incoming calls “When unreachable”, “When unanswered” or “When busy”
6. Enter or edit the phone number you want to use for call forwarding
7. Tap “Update” / “Enable”

Disable Call Forwarding:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Access “Settings” > “Call forwarding”
4. If necessary, tap the forwarding option you want to turn off
5. Tap “Disable” to confirm
