Back Up and Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic restore to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Contacts
- Access All contacts
- Tap the account type and account you want to use for contact backup
- Tick the Contacts check box
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: You can restore the contacts the next time you sign in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system ray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone memory, preferably in the Media folder
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
