Share iPhone Contacts Using iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with Internet access, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Android phone.

  1. Connect the iPhone to the computer via USB
  2. Open iTunes on the computer
  3. After the device connects, click the iPhone in iTunes and access “Info”
  4. Enable “Sync Contacts with”
  5. Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu and sign in with your account, or click “Configure” and select an existing account
  6. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  7. Once done, switch to the Android phone and register the same account used in iTunes
  8. Allow the account to sync contacts with the Android device

Share iPhone Contacts Using iCloud:

NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and go to “Contacts”
  4. Select the desired contacts to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. After the vCard is downloaded, follow one of these steps:
    • Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to the phonebook via “Google Contacts” or:
    • Connect the Android device to the computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import the vCard to the phonebook using “Contacts”

Using My Contacts Backup:

NOTE: Although the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup”. This will create a vCard file containing your iPhone contacts
  3. Next, tap “Email”
  4. Compose a new email and make sure the vCard is attached
  5. Send the email attachment to your own address
  6. Switch to the Android phone and open the email, then download and import the vCard via “Contacts”

Using Send Anywhere:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app you can use for contact transfer, available on iOS and Android. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts without requiring computer access.

  1. Go to the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Play Store and install the same app on the Android device
  3. Open the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send” again
  6. Lastly, select a transfer method on one of the devices and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
