can anyone please explain to me what the hell happened last night?
I mean, ill be it, i wanted detriot to win cause Larry Brown's an amazing coach, Rip Hamilton, Rasheed and Ben Wallace are excellent players. But I was really hoping the series would make it to Game 7 ya know? If detriot was really cut out for winning, I have no doubt they could've defeated Los Angeles at Staples Center. I just can't believe it ended up 4 - 1. I mean, that's too close to being a complete sweep.
I really feel sorry for Karl Malone however, 192 games w/o a championship, highest in the league. Phil's return is questionable, and so is Gary Paytons as far as im concerned (who had minimal contributions to the teams score). Shaq did fine in the beginning but decided to show up and forget to show out. My friend pointed out to me that one of the biggest mistakes they made besides letting Malone play soo long was getting rid of Robert Horry. That guy wasnt a star or anything, but he really came through when they needed him. I remember that 1 second shot clock 3pointer he did in the 2001 finals against the 76ers. They showed a recap the other night actually, I think that shot was comparable to Kobe's in game 2. I dunno, yesterday was my birthday, and watching the lakers get their asses handed to them was a sad sad way for me to end my bday. Oh well, maybe next year...
