    Hello everyone, within the next week my wife and I will be getting a new 2 year plan with sprint. I plan on getting the EVO. I also work in retail and will be getting a 20% discount with my plan. My question, as the title says is where is the best place to buy? I've priced it out online so I know what the base is. Can I get a better deal in a local Sprint store or a retail store such as Best Buy? Any and all advice is appreciated! Thanks.

    I think the Sprint Store would be best.
    You can walk out with a fully functional phone in less than 1/2 hour.
    That includes address book and calendar transfered from old phone.
    (Email and porting may take a few days)

    It really all depends on what your priorities are. If $$ is your priority, then go online because you can always find great deals online. If it is promptness, then visit a retail store; you can get and get out and take your new phone home. If you haven't already made the switch, I can certainly help you. I'm an account executive for Sprint. Just send me a message and I can send over my info.

    If you haven't already gotten your phone, compare the prices at sprint.com to what you get at a-speedwireless.com. If you need the phone the same day, go to a Sprint store. A-speedwireless.com ships pretty fast, and you should get your phone within one or two business days.

    Best buy is by far the cheapest retail place to go however they are the least knowledgable. Its not there fault they just have so many different phones and carriers. If you go into a sprint store they will "hopefully" help pick out a good phone for you wife and show her how to use the phone. This is usually worth the extra money. Sometimes people think they should get a particular phone but we find out that a completely different phone best fits their needs.

    I would always recommend Best Buy and this is the reason. When you purchase your mobile phone and service though Best Buy you can also purchase their "Black Tie Protection Plan" this is insurance for your cell phone. It is about $10 a month but if you have broken a few phones in the past it is well worth it. Sprint Phone Insurance is about $7 per month but if you break your phone you still have to pay a $100 to $150 deductible to get it replaced. With Best Buy Black Tie Protection there is no deductible. You bring your broken phone in and they give you a loner phone then call you in about a week when you can come pick up your new phone (they do say they fix your phone if possible but out of 5 phones I have broken I have gotten a new one every time) one thing that is a disadvantage is that the Black Tie Protection does not cover theft or loss. (which sprint I believe does but still with the deductible)

    Sprints TEP is only 50$/100$ deductable... I dont think best buy covers liquid damage either.

    Actually YES Best Buy Black Tie Protection does cover liquid damage, any damage of any kind as long as you have the phone but no lost or stolen coverage of any kind.

    Also for Sprint phone insurance the deductible is different depending on the original retail price of your phone, I was told for phones costing over $500 (retail price with out or before the contract discount) the deductible was $150.

    Between my husband and I, we have broken 7 phones in the last year! If we would have had Sprint insurance in stead of best buy’s black tie protection we would have spend an extra $1050 bucks, and at times we just plain did not have an extra $150 to spend. I know that is an extreme case, most people do not go though as many phones as we do but in our case having the Best Buy Black Tie Protection is the obvious choice, especially with such expensive phones (we both have $600 and $700 phones). I was also able to get my Samsung Epic 4G for only $30 out of pocket because they no longer carried the Palm Pre that I had broken (purposely to get a new phone but shhhh don’t tell) I just had to pay the difference on the originally price I paid (i.e. I paid 199.99 out of pocket when I bought the Pre in 09 and they were selling the Epic for 229.99 = 30.00 difference) Awesome deal for me!

    Best buy by a long shot as said above it's a better deal all the way around & u don't have to deal w/ the mail in rebate, it's instant discount & get the insurance, i personally thinks it's the best & they give u a loner phone & sprint won't. Have a blessed day ¦~}
    i've had sprint since 2005

    Hi

    The best place to buy would be through an ACN Representative. ACN sells Sprint services and you can get discounts on the cell phones. You cans till apply the 20% discount from your retail job.

    I am an ACN Representative and I can help you get the best deal.
