where i'm from, we have no t-mobile stores, only stores that sells tmobile to go. i ordered my t-mobile fone online since it covered my area. the nearest tmobile store is in this city that is 2 hrs away (too busy to go out there).

i was wonderin how can i do a phone upgrade?

also, if i wanted to do the phone upgrade, how much would it cost? do i gotta wait til my contract is almost over? (saw it on a topic) or i can do it already? i been a customer of tmobile for about almost 3 months. i'm wantin to upgrade because i got my fone for free the samsung t309 and i really want to upgrade to the t809 - however its like 300 bucks?(i think) if i upgrade - will it still cost this much? or price will be reduced?

t309 should be about $250 with a 2 year contract extension. you can order one from customer care. you can also do a 1 year extension through customer care or just purchase the phone outright for $380 without an extension. you can also not do a contract extension and purchase one from ebay, but beware, those phones are not eligible for insurance and there is no way to tell if they are covered by warranty

Hey I'm sorry I can't go back and edit my first post, but the pricing is for the T-809, not the T-309 as I originally posted.

If you can get an L7 or L6 unlocked, it should work with any GSM carrier. I'm surprised that it doesn't operate on 850Mhz as it's a Cingular phone and Cingular uses that frequency in a lot of areas. Anyhow, in the USA T-Mobile operates on 1900 Mhz, so it should be fine.

fyi, if the L6 is missing the 850 band, it's a european model.

however, the L7 is quadband, so all should be good.

(as long as they're unlocked )

If you have a tmobile account then your phone will come with a removable SIM card under the battery. Your phone number and account info is stored in the SIM card and has nothing to do with the phone. You can use ANY GSM phone you want and it will work with your SIM card, as long as it is a tmobile "branded" phone or is unlocked.

If you want to switch phones and don't want to do a contract extension just buy a new phone and put in the SIM card. You don't have to add lines, do extensions, or call customer service at all. You can buy a phone off ebay for a lot less and it will work great. Probably not isurable through tmobile, though, since you didn't buy it through them. Tmobile allows you to configure your phone on their website to use WAP, MMS, and SMS. The configuration is no charge. The thing is you can save enough money doing this that it makes insurance impractical anyway.

Also, make sure you get a phone that has both 850 and 1900 for coverage in the US. Tmobile is primarily on 1900 but roams a lot on 850 for their contract coverage. Check that out here. http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/?class=coverage
notice where it says "850 roaming coverage" on the map key.

Well RRODRIG meant that if you would like to add-a-line with your unlocked phone, he would activate it for you and then just send you the sim card that you would just slip in your phone and you would be good to go.

I don't know if he can really do it though, I know I can't here because I would need your ID and for you to sign the contract.
