I have the HTC Dash and I absolutely HATE it!!!! I have had nothing but problems with this phone since about six months after my purchase, which was $250.00. My phone has never been abused and does not even have any signs of wear and use on it. However, when I called to tell TMobile of my problems they would only replace my phone with the EXACT same phone, but not even a new one, a REFURBISHED one!!!! I even offered to pay additionally out of my pocket to potentially down grade after I have already spent the $250.00, but they wouldn't even take my money and agree to that? Why the hell would I want another piece of junk and a refurbished one at that?

I have been looking elsewhere to replace my phone and I have seen the "unlocked" phones that will work with TMobile, but I don't know if it will be MyFave 5 "compatible" I got some long drawn out story from the jerk working in the customer service department about how it had to be a MyFav 5 phone in order for me to "upgrade" and since I dont' have internet on my phone (smart access plan) I couldn't use the sidekick because I would have to pay for the data plan which is not available to me in order for the phone to even work???? All I want is a full QWERTY keyboard and a planner/calendar in my phone, otherwise I could care less what options I have.

So, do any of you extremely smart individuals that know all of this phone business know if I can purchase just any unlocked phone with a full qwerty keyboard (mostly smart phones and pda's) and use it with my plan or do I have to purchase some phone that is compatible with my plan? Please help me I am in a huge hurry to get rid of this piece of junk!!

It depends on which phone you purchase.

If you purchase a Sidekick then you need to change your plan.....

If you purchase a Blackberry then you need to change your plan.....

If you get another type of pda or whatnot then you need a data plan....

As for the MyFaves the phone must have the five dots on the outside of it somewhere in order for it to be MyFaves compatible.

As far as I know, there are more choices now:
    Telus - My Fave
Telus prepaid - One number unlimited ($7)
    Rogers - My 5
    Bell - Fab Five
    Koodo - Five Essentials
    Virgin - My CREW

Tips: You can add an Extra number from magicnumber.ca $6.95 only to your My5 number, which allows all Incoming and Outgoing Unlimited even call its on-net cities across major cities in Canada FREE

Re: my fave 5 compatible phones

You do not have to buy a My-Fav's compatiable phone inorder to have your My-Fav's work correctly. You do have to have it to change them, but you can also change them online at home or whatever, so thats not really the issue. The biggest things is making sure the number your dialing from the phone is the same one as in you My-Fav's setting.

Now as far as a full QWERTY keyboard phone with out a Data plan, you can use most smart phones, such as a Shadow, Dash, or the samsung Messenger's that T-Mobile has now as well. You don't need a data plan for the Shadow or Dash, or anyother Smartphone that T-Mobile has if you buy it from someone other than a retailer, but some functions of the phone may not work.

Just so you know, I have tried the above, with a dash, and it worked fine with out a Data plan, and I also used a cheap pre-paid phone with my Sim-card for the My-Fav's and it worked fine as well, plus Cust Service told me about changing the My-Favs with the internet, so they are aware this works too!

Hope it helps, and if I did help you, please hit the little green button below!
