Looks like e2save has run out of K608i stock. Is this a general problem
with three or just e2save. I know places like mobiles.co.uk have them
(or look like they do), but how can I trust them to give me my cashback?

But can you trust e2save to give you your cashback? Read the thread
started yesterday evening regarding this!
Mobileshop have been okay for me so far (1 out of 2 cashbacks)

Thanks, I saw that post.
Has anyone got experience of mobiles.co.uk? Do they pay up. The offers
seem pretty the same everywhere with the K608i and Three on the VTT700
tariff (12 month contract), i.e. half price for all 12 months.

Just to say that if you haven't heard most 3 offers have changed or
will change as of today as 3 the network has changed it's promotions to
give double texts rather than reduced line rentals so most of these
K608i deals will be different / more expensive :-(

Thanks Andy. I think I read that here somewhere or on the what mobile
forums I think.
But I ordered from e2save earlier this week...
Anyway, what offers are we likely to see soon?

3 dropped a load of commission for December (as did Voda). They're
trying to squeeze cashback out of the market IMO.
Mobiles.co.uk are like all of the (reputable) online dealers - if you
claim your cashback/HPLR as per their published instructions you won't
have any trouble. Don't forget these guys have been around for over 10
years, so they're hardly a fly-by-night operation running out of some
rent-a-office in Sheffield.

You are quite right. e2save's stocks have dried up on the k608i and all
other phones are now more expensive. The same goes for mobiles.co.uk -
the K608i is now more expensive.
Can anyone recommend an alternative package/phone to get, now that
Orange don't want to give me a free upgrade (or any upgrade for that
matter) on my OVP Virgin account? I only need a basic phone (this is my
second phone - not my daily one). I like the look of the Moto SLVR (OK,
probably won't be the cheapest phone at first), but I think it may also
be time to get a flip phone. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The SLVR is shaping up to be very reasonably priced, probably slightly
less than the V3 is now. If you want a flip, hang on for the V3i -
played with a prototype a week ago and it was very useable, for a moto.
Otherwise buy a Nokia 6510 off eBay. Can't get a better phone, IMO, if
you don't mind trading bluetooth off for a lovely interface and tiny
size. Plus 14 day battery life, just like in the good old days..

Although in fairness to e2save I've now had about 8 cheques from them
(at one point I had 3 mobiles on the go). All were for the correct
amounts and received within about 4 weeks of sending off the letter &
copy bills (recorded delivery).
Of course I'm still due a few cheques so I've probably just jinxed myself!
