    Hi

Recently got a Moto V3. The owners guide says you can send emails with the
phone but my phone ain't got this feature?????? Is there someway of
    activating it?

Also, my phone has video capture which it shouldn't have. And no, its not
been modded to add this feature it came to me brand new.

Cheers for any feedback with the above,

    Kevin

Yes, enter the settings for your email provider so it has somewhere to
    download the emails from.

Moto have added this to the latest firmware. I wouldn't complain, it's a
    bonus.

    Thanks Chris,

Maybe I wasn't clear with my explanation. When I go into my messages menu I
see no option that says email. Just got the usual inbox, outbox, mms etc but
nothing about email???? Is there some setting I can enter then it appears??

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Well... there is the manual, here:
    http://direct.motorola.com/manuals/2...df?country=GBR

There is a reference to reading and sending e-mail on page 84.

No thats no use. When I go to where the manual says I don't have anything
about emails! It just aint there on my phone. All I have is all the other
message settings etc to do with mms and texts

    Cheers

As I said, it needs set up. If you go to the message menu, and press the
menu button (the one with the three lines) there should be an email
setup/settings option. Once you go into this and set it up, it will appear
    under the general message menu.

    Hi Chris,

OK, have went to message menu then pressed the menu button. There is no
email option on disply in this menu! All I have is, New msg, fax setup,
cleanup msgs, memory meter, voicemail setup, message setup, info svce setup,
    outbox setup and reorder list.

I tried selecting message setup from the above. I then have mms setup, inbox
view, service centre No., Autoclean up, Email gateway and sms alert.

I'm now assuming I need to input some number into the Email gateway??? If so
I aint got a clue what it is as o2 doesn't list is anywahere?????

I'm getting rather confused and am grateful for any further info.

    Thanks

The email gateway a different feature altogether, for sms to email. None of
the networks have a number for this.

Without having a V3 handy, I can't say for sure where the option should be -
the menu was where I described on a Motorola V80 I have lying about.

Anyone with a V3 shed any light?

In the interim, if you're trying to send an email, you can send it as an
MMS. Just type the email address where you would normally enter the
recipient number and it'll sort the rest out.

Had a quick google - is the phone on O2 PAYG? Someone here
(http://www.esato.com/archive/t.php/t-109518) had the same problem and it
turned out that O2 had removed the menu from the phone (as it's not a
    feature they support on PAYG).

Seems silly as O2 PAYG do support email. I have an O2 PAYG Motorola V547
lying around and that has the email function visible. I use a 6230i on
O2 PAYG and the email client works perfectly

    Thanks for that guys.

Your right, it is a PAYG phone. Although my monthly sim will be getting put
in the phone. Looks like I'll need to 'flash' the memory or somethoing to
    get the feature.

    Cheers
