I have tried evry way to get the K750i to transfer files using bluetooth,
but mine seems to be having allsorts of problems. I am not a new user of
bluetooth having had several other phones which implemented it before this
one, but I find this the most unreliable for bluetooth transfers. Any idea
why?

What firmware version do you have? There was a bluetooth issue on one
particular firmware version. Also, certain handsets had incorrect bluetooth
circuitry, there was a certain range of handsets in which it was known to be
a problem.
I can't find the web-page which details the IMEI number-range involved,
quite irritating.
Anyhoo, as a start, why not upgrade the firmware? To check which version of
firmware you have press the following key combination, with the arrows being
left and right (< and > ) respectively;
> * < < * < * <
If you do that at a fast-ish speed, a menu should appear. Select 'model
info' and it will tell you the firwmare version. It may say something such
as: R1AA008 or basically anything beginning with an R followed by a few
random alpha-numeric digits.
The latest version is R1BC002 - so if you haven't got that try updating via
SEUS (sony ericsson update service) (www.sonyericsson.com) - with the cable
that came with your phone.
Upgrading the firmware will possibly provide a solution.

Re: k750i faling to transfer files on bluetooth?
I have R1AA008 in mine and bluetooth works perfectly with many other
devices.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if there is a "list of changes"
available when SE update the software? I am well aware of the risks of
updating FLASH, so don't want to do it unless there's a good reason!

Hi Richard.
They don't seem to provide a concrete list, but www.esato.com forums do
have lists of bugs and advantages/disadvantages for each post - a search of
the forums is probably the best idea.
I personally have found that each firmware has been an advancement, and has
done what it's meant to do - enhance and fix previoulsy-annoying bugs.

Re: k750i faling to transfer files on bluetooth?
That site does seem to list the updates quite well:
R1BC002
- Released on SEUS for the K750 on 9/3/06.
- Released on SEUS for the W800 on 18/3/06
- Free memory is now listed in MB instead of KB.
- Photos are now taken as soon as the shutter sound is heard.
- Slight increase in speaker and headphone volume.
- Slight increase in phone responsiveness.
- FIX: Background noise during lower volume calls ('hissing bug') now fixed.
- FIX: All USB transfer issues now fixed.
- FIX: Increased stability in PhotoDJ and VideoDJ applcations.
- BUG: m4a tags are not read with this firmware.
- JBenchmark 3D LQ: 202
- JBenchmark 3D HQ: 126
- JBenchmark 2: 340
- JBenchmark 1: 3889
- Software versions:
LCD 0
Camera 4.5
ITP CXC 125 932 R1B
R1BA013
- Released by Cruiser Team on 24/02/06.
- Add new profile in Settings / Connectivity / Device mgmt., possibly to
enable phone-based firmware updates.
I will give it a try and see what happens, I am quite keen on having memory
in Mb!
I've also experienced problems with USB transfer, especially with my
girlfriend's K750i, which has older software (I was less enthusiastic about
messing with her phone, it was only 2 days old!!). Be interesting to see if
I get it again after the upgrade...
Cheers,
Richard.
