Hi,
Could anybody please confirm that Vodafone used to allow customers to use
their own outgoing mail servers for email. Also an approximate date when
this was changed.
Thanks.

Re: Vodafone mail servers
Hi Joe,
I'm not sure if and when this changed.
Even if you can't send and receive e mails from your phone using your
e mail server directly, you can do it using Vodafone Mail. This is
Vodafone's e mail service, and you can link it to your private e mail
account. This way, you can get e mails on your phone.
You can have a look at
http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatc...pageID=GM_0269
for more information.
Hope this helps.

You still can. I send through 1&1's authenticated SMTP server.

Re: Vodafone mail servers
Hi,
Perhaps I should have explained, I used to be able to use my own outgoing
mailserver to send email from my phone no problem but last year sometime
they changed it so I can only send email by using their outgoing mailserver
send.vodafone.net
It would appear they've started diverting smtp traffic and I was trying to
get confirmation that they used to allow the use of customer's own
mailserver and when they stopped allowing this.
Cheers,
