I think I'm due for an 'upgrade', took the discount last year instead and
will prolly do the same again this year, but ........

How can I contact Orange to find out?

I filled in the form on the web site which said someone would contact me =
    nowt!

As a business customer, I can dial 345 and get thru quicker (so they say)
but tried for 15 (?) minutes twice yesterday to no avail.

I think I read somewhere that the 0800 079 xxx number to OCR was no linger
    valid.

    Any more suggestions?

Bad to answer my own post, I know, but I finally rang 0800 079 4000 and got
thru to someone British, who told me that as I'd taken a 10% discount last
year, that was "for life" (I'm on select500) and that I could upgrade my
phone on 19th October and still keep my discount.

That sounds rather good for Orange - surely there must be a 'simplification'
    somewhere??

    Go to the Orange website
    http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/paymonthly/upgrade

Go to the upgrade your phone link, then, use the link on the right to
    sign-in.

Once you've signed in, the section on the right will list an
"estimated upgrade fee". If it is zero, the only price you pay at
upgrade is if you want a new handset, in which case, it'll be the
price listed by the phone... (although the price might be difference
    in an orange shop).

Another option would be to visit your local Orange shop who can help
    you.

As for the phone numbers, the orange website lists 0800 079 0169 on
    the upgrades page.

No, that's it. If you re-commit again this year without taking another
phone your discount goes to 15%.

Do what most people with phone insurance do. Have the phone lost or stolen,
    then sell it on ebay.
    Cheap easy way to upgrade.

Also quite easy to get yourself into trouble as well. Probably not the
    best advice to follow.

    Paul

Thanks for that stunning piece of advice.

I don't have 'phone insurance' and I'm not in the habit of committing fraud.

But many of the numbers are out of date
