I have a StarTAC 7868 that was previously on US Cellular. I cannot activate
it on Alltel because of the subsidy lock.

Does anyone know what programming lock code US Cellular uses?

    TIA

It's probably not worth the bother to get it unlocked. Alltel won't
activate a non-E911 compliant phone. I think they will only make
limited exceptions for loaner phones when a customer's E911 compliant
phone is sent out for repair. The FCC is requiring 95% of all handsets
to be E911 compliant by 12/31/2005. Alltel could face some big fines
    if they miss the target.

It's a darn shame. My entire family has StarTAC's and they've been
good phones. I wonder if Alltel will be encouraging me to ugrade to
    newer phones before year's end?

    Chuck,

    Something is wrong here.
The 7868 is CDMA, so is Alltel (Verizon).
    US Cellular is TDMA.

    See bigger problem above.
