Checking for Software Updates


1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Then touch System settings -> tap System update.
3. Select Update Kyocera software.
4. Your Kyocera Torque will then search to see if there’s any system update available.
5. If there’s a system update available you just need to follow the on-screen prompts to download it and install it to your device.
6. In case there isn’t an update available, tap OK.

Checking the Software Version

Not sure what type of firmware your Kyocera Torque has? Then follow the next steps to learn how you can check that:

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Then touch System settings-> tap About phone.
3. The software version is displayed under Android version.

Updating the Data Profile


1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Then touch System settings-> then select System update -> tap Update profile.
3. After the profile update is complete, touch OK.

Setting up a Screen Lock Pattern

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Then touch System settings-> select Security -> touch Screen Lock -> select Pattern.
3. Read the instructions if necessary and tap Next.
4. Tap and drag your finger on the screen to create the desired pattern.
5. If you want to redraw the patter, tap Retry.
6. When satisfied with the pattern, tap Continue.
7. Draw the same pattern once more and then tap Confirm.
8. Congratulations! Your device is now protected by a screen lock pattern.

Clearing the Application Data

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Then select Manage apps.
3. Select the desired app -> then touch Clear data.
4. Read the warning message and if you agree with it, tap OK.
5. The app data will then be cleared.

Enabling and Disabling Mobile Data

It’s useful to disable the mobile data if you want to save the battery life or you’d like to troubleshoot certain connectivity issues.

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Then touch System settings-> tap Data usage.
3. Turn the Mobile data switch to OFF to disable the setting or to ON if you want to enable it.

Performing a Diagnostic Test

1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
2. Then select Sprint Zone -> tap OK if the Privacy Statement appears -> then tap Help.
3. Select My Device -> Sprint Zone will then automatically test both the Voce and Data connection.
4. If you see a green check it means that your Data and Voice connections are working as they should. But if you see a yellow exclamation point it means there’s an issue with the connection.
5. So if you’re having an issue with the Voice or Data connection, tap Coverage Update -> the Data Profile will then update.
6. When finished, tap OK.
7. Then make sure the Wireless & Networks option is checked.
8. And that’s it! The diagnostic test has been completed.
