Clearing an App's Cache and / or Data:

NOTE: Assuming that one or more of your applications run incorrectly, they freeze, crash or have odd behavior, then you can try and fix these issues by clearing the respective app's cache and / or data.

WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the application. This includes profiles, login and credit card information, high scores, saved games etc. However, clearing the app's cache might solve these problems without losing data, so it's recommended that you try this method first.

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Device" and tap "Apps"
  4. Slide to the "All" screen and select the desired app
  5. Tap "Clear cache"
  6. If clearing the cache hasn't fixed the problem(s), tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: Assuming that your smartphone doesn't work as smoothly as it used to, it crashes, hangs, freezes or is affected by other similar issues, then you might consider factory resetting it.

Before master resetting your device though, you might be able to fix your phone by clearing the cache partitions first. Unlike a factory reset, clearing the cache might give the same results without deleting your personal data and returning every setting to factory values. To wipe the phone's cache partition:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Power" and "Volume down" buttons at the same time
  3. Once the phone vibrates, release the "Power" key
  4. The "Android Recovery" screen should appear
  5. From the Recovery menu, press "Volume down" and navigate & highlight "wipe cache partition"
  6. Press "Power" to select the highlighted option and begin the cache wipe
  7. Once the process is complete, "Reboot system now" will be highlighted
  8. Press "Power" to restart your device

NOTE: In case clearing the cache hasn't helped with your device, then you might want to try and factory reset it. Visit this thread for a full guide on how you can master reset the Kyocera Hydro Life.
