NOTE: When using the backup methods described above, the backed up data will be automatically restored the next time you log in with your Google account
Backing Up Applications:
- While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Tap "Settings"
- Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Backup and reset"
- In order to back up your apps, you need to be logged in to a Google account. Tap "Backup account", tap "Add account" and follow the on-screen prompts to create or sign in with a Google account
- Mark the "Back up my data" check box
- Mark the "Automatic restore" check box
Backing Up Contacts:
- Tap "Apps" from the home screen
- Go to "Settings" and tap "Accounts"
- Select the account to sync
- Mark the "Contacts" check box
- Tap "Menu" and press "Sync now"
Backing Up Media Files:
- Open the apps drawer
- Tap "Photos"
- Press "Menu" and go to "Settings"
- Tap "Auto Backup" and ensure that the "Auto Backup" switch is set to "ON"
- You need to be signed in with a Google account in order to back up your media files. If necessary, tap "Backup account" > "Add account" and follow the on-screen instructions to log in or create an account
- Change the settings for "Backup storage" and "Backup settings" as you see fit
- To learn more about backing up media files using this method, tap "About Auto Backup"
