Back up Apps:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset
  4. To proceed, you need to be signed in with your Google account. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Add account” and follow the on-screen instructions
  5. Enable “Back up my data” to back up account data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account
  6. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow apps to restore data upon reinstallation

Back up Contacts:

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts
  3. If necessary, tap “Add account” to sign in with your Google account
  4. Select the desired account, and tap your email address
  5. Enable the “Contacts” switch
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now

Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:

  1. Launch the “Contacts” app
  2. Tap “Menu
  3. Select “Import / Export” > “Export to SD card
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Back Up Media Files

On a Google Account:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Photos
  3. If necessary, tap “Sign in” and register with your Google account
  4. If this is the first time using the app, choose to back up data over “Wi-Fi only” or “Wi-Fi and mobile network”, then tap “Turn on
  5. Once signed in, tap “Menu” > “Settings” > “Auto Backup
  6. Enable the switch at the top to enable back up

On a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Kyocera Hydro Air to your PC via USB
  2. On the home screen, drag the “Status” bar down
  3. Tap “Touch for other USB options” and make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled
  4. Open a Windows Explorer window on the computer, and locate the desired media files on your phone storage
  5. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. After the transfer is complete, click the “Mass Storage Device” icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage
  7. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector

On a Mac Computer:

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Head down to https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
  3. Click “Download now
  4. On the Mac, run “androidfiletransfer.dmg
  5. Drag “Android File Transfer” to “Applications
  6. Connect the Kyocera Hydro Air to your Mac via USB
  7. Make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)
  8. Double-click “Android File Transfer
  9. Locate the desired files on the phone, and drag > drop them to transfer
