Back up Apps:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- To proceed, you need to be signed in with your Google account. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Add account” and follow the on-screen instructions
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up account data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account
- Enable “Automatic restore” to allow apps to restore data upon reinstallation
Back up Contacts:
- Go to “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- If necessary, tap “Add account” to sign in with your Google account
- Select the desired account, and tap your email address
- Enable the “Contacts” switch
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:
- Launch the “Contacts” app
- Tap “Menu”
- Select “Import / Export” > “Export to SD card”
- Tap “OK” to confirm
Back Up Media Files
On a Google Account:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Photos”
- If necessary, tap “Sign in” and register with your Google account
- If this is the first time using the app, choose to back up data over “Wi-Fi only” or “Wi-Fi and mobile network”, then tap “Turn on”
- Once signed in, tap “Menu” > “Settings” > “Auto Backup”
- Enable the switch at the top to enable back up
On a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Kyocera Hydro Air to your PC via USB
- On the home screen, drag the “Status” bar down
- Tap “Touch for other USB options” and make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled
- Open a Windows Explorer window on the computer, and locate the desired media files on your phone storage
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is complete, click the “Mass Storage Device” icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
On a Mac Computer:
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
- Click “Download now”
- On the Mac, run “androidfiletransfer.dmg”
- Drag “Android File Transfer” to “Applications”
- Connect the Kyocera Hydro Air to your Mac via USB
- Make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
- Double-click “Android File Transfer”
- Locate the desired files on the phone, and drag > drop them to transfer
