Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings” and access “Display” for more options
  4. Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep
  5. Select a lower timeout value

Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization
  3. Select an app to optimize and optionally, you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization

Uninstall Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform background processes regularly and this can affect the device’s battery life. By removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications
  2. Switch to “See all apps
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can potentially improve battery life by disabling the device’s connectivity features when they are not in use and thus avoiding unnecessary network scans.

  1. Drag the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle to disable the feature
  4. For more options, access “Settings” > “Network & Internet” > “Hotspot & Tethering
  5. Tap “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and disable the feature

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and you should keep the OS updated at all times. To check for new updates:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “System” and tap “System updates
  3. Tap “Check for updates
  4. If applicable follow the prompts to download and apply the update
