Clear App Data/Cache:

NOTE: If an application causes issues, you can try fixing it by clearing the app’s cache or data. WARNING! When clearing the app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including login data, user profiles, custom settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear only the app cache.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Apps & Notifications
  3. Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  5. If clearing the cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Device:

NOTE: Ensure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “System
  3. Tap “Reset options
  4. To reset network settings go to “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth
  5. Tap “Reset” two times
  6. To reset app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps
  7. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (Factory reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase Everything

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove Apps:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app from Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
  3. Wait for the device to finish rebooting and you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  4. Open “Settings
  5. Access “Apps & Notifications” and switch “See all apps
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  7. Exit Safe Mode by rebooting the device normally
