I'm pretty sure CDex has an option that lets you pick what quality to convert them to... you'd have to check that out tho.

i have mine at 96Kbps, they sound great.

If all else fails, IM me and i wouldnt mind converting them for you (with my fancy Sound Forge 5)

Get the newest version. I have .7.2-official and it works wonderfully with my vx6000... never could get .62 working.

If you have the maximum alloted polyphonic ringers, does that affect the length of the mp3 you can load into your phone? btw i don't have the data cable and or bitpim. I'm trying to send it through vzwpix.com. I cut it down to 30kb which verizon requires but the phone just says cannot save file. I've done all the other stuff as well renaming mp3 to mid etc etc so back to the original question does the amount of stuff you have loaded up affect whether or not you can save an mp3 ringer?

    Help with Bitpim

I just got a new phone VX6100 and a USB cable for it. I was trying to use Bitpim to download ringers, and it doesn't seem to work. I checked everything is connected correctly and I downloaded the correct drivers. Has any one else had any problems with the connection?

    Thanks

I getting the same message as others: I did shorten the file names and I still get this message. Please help.

    This is for windows users.

You will need BitPim .62 for the VX6000, as well as a CD Ripping program called CDex, found at

    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/c...1.exe?download

Install CDex, and open it up.

Click on the Convert menu, and click where it says "Convert compressed audio files to WAV files"

when i use sound recorder i get lost of static with the music..is that normal?

Then Browse and find your Mp3.

Click convert, and make note of where the new .wav is saved.

Then use Sound Recorder (standard windows program --- Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder --- ) to open up the .wav file, and crop the part of the song you want as a ringer.

Once the file is the size you want it, go to file and then save.

Use CDex once again to reverse the conversion -- Click Convert and then click "Convert .wav files to compressed audio files".

That's all you need to do. Then just use BitPim .62 to add the file to your phone.

Humm.. when i use sound recorder to get what I want.. it ends up all staticy.. is that normal?

Verizon Wireless & LG VX6000 ringtones (esp. funny ones)?

Does anyone know of a site with free ringtones (especially but not exclusively humorous ones) for us Verizon Wireless cell phone owners?

    Many thanks in advance.

Most of the time it can be... you have to play with the Bit Rate, and Sample Hertz to get it sounding good... also another little tip, if you are to make sure that the volume of the song isn't too loud, you run a better chance of not making it sound like the speaker is blown on the phone.

    Hope that helps!!!

(I usually use 16000 Sample Rate, and 32 Kbits per second... sounds fine)

I don't have a USB cable yet and I've been sending MIDI ringtones to my vx6000 through my vzwpix.com email. They work great but I was wondering if anyone knows if I get charged for each email? I am too antsy to wait till I get my bill to find out.
