Can LG phones be unlocked?

My friend wants to trade her LG L1200 Cingular phone for my unlocked Samsung S307. I am with T-Mobile, and was wondering if unlocking LG L1200 is possible, and what the codes are. Unlocking the samsung was really easy with codes provided on this forum....

Please help.......seems like i'll be losing my phone to her regardless of whether her phone's gonna work for me or not.....

But I got it to work!!! or maybe it was unlocked to begin with...

I just tried putting in my T-Mobile SIM, and the phone will turn on and say T-mobile. No "Wrong SIM" message. Only thing was the wallpaper was screwed up, and I couldn't change it to anything....like it was black and white with bunch of huge pixels. so i put in the Cingular SIM card, and it was the same problem. so I just reset it to factory settings under Security menu. and then eveyrthing was fine.

So i put my T-Mobile card back in, and everything is working fine!!! Does this mean the phone was already unlocked?? If its not giving me any error messages or anything, I can assume its safe to use??
