Being as this post was about the VX7000, I'll ask a question of you, if I may...

I just got a VX7000 after a fiasco with a 6100 that was to replace my 6000. I loved my 6000, and my favorite thing about it was being able to use the volume controller on the side of the phone to activate the 'ignore' mode, and send callers to voicemail.
The 7000 dosen't seem to do this. Is there a way to make it do that by editing any of the configuration files?
Also, I've read how to change the banner text, but what about color? I can't seem to find a way to ditch the red banners on my 7k, and they're kind of annoying...

    Thanks for your help!

I ordered a generic usb adapter for my phone
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT
which is not a futuredial can I use it with QPST cause the driver posted is for futuredial. All of this was made known to me 4 minutes ago after I ordered the generic cable for 10 bucks total.
If I use QPST it wont mess my phone up like it did the other guys one will it?

QPST is just a program. And FutureDial is the type of drivers. But on my website the link for the drivers is a USBInstaller so it is also a "generic" driver. Just follow the directions and everything should be ok

Well I got my usb data cable today and plugged it in, I unzipped the usb drivers file(From the links) to my C:Program files and im on Windows XP. After I plugged it in I pointed the directory to the FutureDial/USb installer/drivers/windows 98. After it installed it said that I had a error and the device is not working properly etc. So I uninstalled it and now dont know what to do, I experimented as much to my knowledge as I can to no avail. The wizard does not pop up anymore when I plug in my phone and I have to wait for it to get recognized to go further.

I tried automatic detection and it did not work, again this is Windows XP with the Verizon VX7000

I already uninstalled it but if I do it again connect phone, go to driver on popup and update driver(since no driver is installed) point it to futuredial/drivers/windows98 then it says about compatibility issues with XP. So I continue anyway and it backs up my registry.

There was a problem installing this hardware
    FUTURE DIAL USB Composite
    The device cannot Start(code 10)

A problem occured during installation, your device might not work properly.

Device manager I locate it and only trouble shoot it or try and update it, uninstall.
    Driver version 3.50.0.2701
    This device cannot start

Cant you manually install it without inserting phone, cause in the usb driver folder theres a icon that manual starts the drivers but I cant locate the vx7000 only the vx6000 in there.

Strange when I plug in the phone it shows new hardware found and takes me to the wizard. If I cancel all of that it says in the taskbar that a error has occured and device might not work properly.

But when I check device manager it shows the future dial in the Bus controllers and when I click on it , it says the device is working properly.

you can use the vx6000 one for the 7000 it works the same. Just have your phone un plugged. Run the USBIntaller, select the vx6000 then hit next and when it asks to plug in the phone plug it in. it should bring up the new hardware wizard. then you browse to the Future Dial folder to the drivers and select the win98. it should work
