I'm new so please be patient. This may be a stupid question but I have an LG 4400 through U.S. Cellular. I don't have net service on it. Can I get different ringtones anyway? If so, where? I've seen several sites that state all I need is a credit card but I can't find my phone type there. Thanks!!

    VX4400

    get bitpim "http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/"

    get the driver "http://www.futuredial.com/support/usbdrivers/Drivers.htm"

get comscan from the bitpim downloads section.

install bitpim, install the drivers, install comscan

if your getting errors, then you're computer doesn't see the cable.

run comscan it should list ports one and two and another atleast. PROLIFIC is the manufacturer that made the cable if comscan shows Prolific then you should be good... set bitpim to com3. and then select in bitpim get data before you even dare to send data or you'll overwrite your phone book ring tones ect. ect. with A BLANK PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And no, Not Stupid. Just Ignorant
(Lacking education or knowledge) I can teach you what I know Then you too young grasshopper you too will teach

·__how do i add ringtones to my phone?
1.)find a ringtone or midi file ending in .mid
2.)save it to your system under the subfolder "ringers" in the "bitpim" folder
    3.)run bitpim
4.)select "data" from the topmost toolbar
    5.)select "send phone data"
6.)a pop-up will appear asking what data you want to send to the phone
7.)well, for this we will select "ringtones" by clicking the box to the left of it
8.)select "merge" to add the current files to your phone
selecting "merge" adds the files without overwriting what you presently have on the phone. if you select "overwrite" all of the files you are about to load will overwrite what you currently have onthe phone. it is always recommended to "merge" your files.
9.)bitpim will say "busy" and a status bar will run at the bottom showing the current files being loaded.
    10.)save and quit
11.)powercycle your phone to get the files to show up
Note: --File types should be midi files ending in .mid.
--Files should not be of great length.
--File names should not have odd characters or CAPITAL letters.

·__how do i know it worked?
well you check your ringers for new additions like this: 1.) go menu
    2.) settings (8)
    3.) sounds (1)
    4.) caller ID (1)
there's your list, find your newly added ringers.
