Front LCD Banner

Hello everyone. I just got my VX7000 a few days ago, and was disappointed to find that I had to text-message (read "Pay Verizon") back-and-forth between myself to transfer data. I'm very happy I found this site, and I'm stoked that I'll soon have my data cable and be able to do all the stuff I WANTED to do!

One quick question first, though. I've changed the banner for the Front LCD, but I never see it appear. All that is ever on the front LCD is the "Verizon Wireless" banner (god, I can't wait to get rid of that....couple more days.....). Does anyone know why my new banner isn't appearing?

The new banner isn't coming up because the Verizon banner is in the way. It says in the manual that with some carriers you cannot change the front banner due to this. Sorry!

Ahh that banner is so annoying.

If you have actually changed the banner in the menu features of your phone, but it doesn't display your changes ... call your service provider from another phone and have them walk you thru the steps in programming your phone to change the "Alpha-tag" - that should do it.

Try to check the original poster's date, I'm willing to bet ufdigga has figured this out by now...

You never know ... my husband tried for a year before he got the right information. I hope they have been able to change the banner.

Another reason I posted an answer to their question - if someone happens to come to this website that has the same question ... now they have the answer too.
