I bought a LG L1400 when i was in New york a week ago which was supposed to be unlocked so that i could use it with my sim card back home(i live in Norway). When i turn on the phone i don't get any signal. I go to menu->settings->connection->world phone and select Europe(1800), and then try menu->settings->connection->Network selection->manual but it can't find anything. Even if i try Automatic it won't get any signal, i can find telenor and Ncom(netcom) which are my countries biggest providers but not chess which i use. Chess uses telenors network though. is there anything i am doing wrong??
Best regards

I found out the phone only has gsm1800 and not gsm900 which is the main net used. Gsm1800 is only used in cities which i noticed when i tried my phone in oslo and got full coverage. Is it possible to update the software or similar to make the phone accept gsm 900?
Best regards
