I have a VP of Sales who swears that LG phones (of any type) are pathetic in Southern California. Futhermore, he claims the Motorola works better in that region. I've had both in my day, and I've purchased a boat-load of LGs for the rest of the road warriors in our company, and I've had no complaints about the LGs but have for the Motorola's. Still, I thought I'd check it out. Since I don't make it to So Cal very often, I was hoping some of you may know if he's right. By the way, it's on the Verizon network.

I have good reception on my LG but my partner's Samsung typically has one more bar of reception than mine most of the time. A phone's brand can play a part in what kind of reception you have, but LG would not be any better or worse in one area than it would in any other area.

    hope this answers your question...

Speaking from experience on using LG phones here in So Cal with Verizon, all models i've used from the LG 510, LG 4400, 6000, 6100, to name a few, they have all worked flawlessly....

Verizon having a solid footprint here in California, even some of the less stellar phones will give you decent RF, i've also used Motorola phones with Verzion, let's not forget how bad the t720 was, even the GSM version was full of glitches, i think it's just a matter of preference, some hate LG phones, some love them, i never had any problems with the models i used.

Noobie here, but both work good for me. I notice a slight difference towards the Moto, but not much. It does help that i am a tech with a cerain cell company!

just wondering, how does that make a difference with the quality of the phone?

As I stated before.......no real difference with the phones.......Cell service is the key issue in my opinion.
