I have an LX8100 with the mp3 player. I REALLY want to find something that will allow me to plug in a normal size headphone into a cell phone jack. Does such a thing exist? Thanks for your help.

yes, it does... but it has to have a mic built into it or you have to unplug to answer calls..... the only one I've seen that HAS that mic was more expensive than the stereo headsets ..... (I'll look for the link tonight)

The other day when I was buying a Motorola data cable for a friend, I saw a very reasonably priced stereo headset with mic included, it's listed as Motorola brand also! It's at the bottom of this page:

EDIT: Oops it says it only works with 3 nextel models... sorry!

Thanks for your help everyone. Just so you know, all I'm looking for is a "converter" that will allow me to plug a normal size headphone jack into my cell phone; I don't need headphones. The main reason I want to do this is because I have an adapter that allows me to listen to my CD player in my car by means of the tape deck, and I wanted to do the same thing with my cell phone. Thanks.

Here is a thread where we discussed this a while back. I was thinking Radio-Shack, then I remembered this thread and did a CPF search with the following 3 words: "cell "adapter" "jack" and it was 2nd in the list after yours.

    Hope this answers your question

We have that adapter in stock for Samsung. Their part #1247-201 MSRP $9.99. I'm not sure if it will work for LG. Did you try any local stores? I would try it but I don't listen to MP3 on the cell. I will try on the next mp3 unit that comes in, and post results.

Thanks for your help, everyone. I found one at radio shack for $3.99. Haven't tried it yet, but it should be fine.

Yeah, I bought the one at radio shack. Here's the problem though: when I plug it in all the way, I only get music out of the right speaker. I remedy that by pulling the plug out slightly, but at that point the connection is not very good and the music goes from playing on the car speakers to playing on the cell phone numerous time. Has anyone else had this problem? I wanted to know if it's a faulty part from radio shack, or if it's a known problem with LG Phone. Thanks!

Yes it is a common problem. It is due to the fact that the one that you bought and the phone that your hooking it too. The little black lines on the plug (without getting technical) do not line up.. Also I think it is the jabra 120's or 220's can't remember work well with this phone. Did you check the link on my previous post. you can hook a regular headphone up that way.

Hey Dallas37. Yeah, I just checked the link. That part certainly is expensive, but I guess if I want something that works, that is what I'll have to get. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!

Well after alot of experiance. Trust me on this. All the adapters your gonna try and buy that are not gonna work 20.00 is not that bad and besides you don't have to get that. You can look around for deals on the Jabra's that also work pretty good.
