    The most popular question around... how can I put mp3's on here? I have a 1gig mini sd chip with a reader. I formatted the chip with the phone, put it in the reader, recognized all the folders... Whenever I drag an mp3 file into the my_mp3 folder I get an error message EVER SINGLE TIME!! And the folder crashes, EVERY SINGLE TIME!! I have been getting so frustrated. The file appears to stay in the folder, and I can get them to play on my phone. Some don't play at all, others play for up to 45 seconds and I get a "file info read error." The error when transfering files from my PC to the reader is "Error copying file or folder." The description is Error copying --------.mp3 Cannot find the specified file...make sure you specify the path and file name. If someone could help me that would be greaaaaaaaat. Thank you!!!!!!

    Okay, I didn't look up this info for your phone model but this answer is based on other threads I've seen where people had similar problems. Before you move the mp3 to your card, give it a DOS-compatible filename (8 digits or less, no symbols or spaces) and I'm almost 90% sure that will work for you. If it still doesn't work, you might have to trim the length and bitrate of the file. Let us know if that works or it's back to the drawing board!

    So basically just rename a file to like bla.mp3? Less than 8 digits? It didn't work... same error.

    Hmm, sorry that didn't work. Leave the thread up and someone will come along who knows what they're talking about. I was just on my way to bed and remembered seeing a similar post and that's what worked for them. If nobody else replies, I'll check into it for you tomorrow and maybe I might actually find the right answer this time.

    Ok, here's a list of things that could be the cause:

    You may have a faulty card.

    I will guess the phone is new and therefore has version 2 software, so version 1 software is not an issue.

    Next would be that you have the card write protected. Look at the card reader adapter that you put your memory card into. With it facing up (the wording up) look on the left hand side about middle way on the adapter, the will be an opening. There will/should be a write protector tab there. To make sure that you don't have it write protected, make sure the tab is to the top.

    You have unknown character's in the name of the song. Character's such as ! @ # $ % ^ & *, etc will not allow the song to be played on the phone.

    You have a name that is over 12 characters in length. Example:

    This is one of the songs I have on my memory card in my 9800.

    Rascal Flatts - skin

    Rascal = 6
    Flatts = 6
    - = 1
    Skin = 4

    Not one word is over 12 characters in length, but if you had it stored like this for instance:

    Rascal Flatts......skin

    Rascal = 6
    Flatts......skin is recognized as one one and therefore would be counted as 16, and the phone would not recognize it.

    These are just a few that I can think of right off the top. If none of these help, let me know, and we can go into a step by step.

    From the sound of it though...I'd say you have a bad card.

    I just exchanged my sd card and reader, plugged it in and it works perfectly fine. Thank you for your info. Now I see why people thought I was retarded, but it was just my reader or sd card all along.
