I got a few questions of file conversion and what works for what on the lg8100.
FIRST: I got some CDs that I want to put the songs on my card to play on my phone but can firgure out how to make em Mp3 format.
Second: Is there anyway to convert file or shorten file and getting them on the phone to be able to use as ringtone?
Thrid: Why cant my phone play .mov(quicktime) because when it saves on my card i load it on my comp and its for quicktime(havent looked at file type i forgot)
Last: Are there any cool hidden tricks on the 8100?

I wanna pimp out my phone lol so any help would be greatly apreciated. I got a 2/3 of a gig left on my card so memory really isnt an issue.

    Re: Conversions???

you can convert AAC'S into MP3's right in I tunes

    click on edit

go down and click on preferences

    click on advanced

    click on importing

    click on importing using

change from AAC encoder to MP3 encoder

    click ok and close window

then right click on any song already in I tunes

go to convert selection to MP3

the conversion will show up right below the AAC song.

If you know what your doing, you can go in and turn the mp3 function on as it has been turned off on all newer 8100's and the wma funtion has been turned on. The person that sold you the phone may have turned that on, or even though you just bought the phone, that doesn't mean it isn't old or have the old firmware on it.

As for WMP 10, I don't think it's the program, as it works perfectly fine for me on all my systems (laptop with XP Home, one tower with XP Pro, daughters tower with XP Media and this new system with Vista)...it may be your computer.

As for trimming songs down for ringtones, why use multiple programs to do that when you can download (for free) something like Audacity, which does it all and other things like upping the volume, fade in and out, changing bit rate and sampling?
As for ripping a CD, any program that does that (except for WMP) will automatically covert the song to mp3 format. If you want a good ripper that's free, download MusicMatch Jukebox and use that to rip and for that matter burn.
