Hey! I was looking over my bill today and I noticed Verizon Wireless charged me for some kind of application program. I have not downloaded anything and the only thing I could think of is they pull some scam and charge you for using the built in program to play your MP3's. Anyone know anything about this? And by the way last month i canceled my v-cast...would that have to do with anything? I tryed calling them but the wait is WAY to long...thanks in advance!

Sorry man I am clueless as to what that charge is. I say call customer service or go to a verizon store, they should be able to help you

Re: does Verizon Wireless charge you for using the mp3 application
Puzzler, did you get a weird text message that has something to do with music? My daughter got that twice-once a month-before we figured out what was happening and we were charged $9.99 for each message. Verizon claims she had to have gone on a website to sign up for it, but she didn't. I know my daughter, when she's lying to me and when she has a reason to lie. She would have told me the truth on this one and I checked her history/cookies/temp files on the computer and the site wasn't present. Besides, she never even had any new ringtones on her phone. The message was long and somewhere in it, it said there would be a charge for the text message.
Verizon removed the charges and I had to call a number to cancel future text messages from them. You'll have to call them to get the number, but if it's the same people, they send this text message unsolicited because many people don't look at their bills and just accept the charges.
It will probably happen again next month unless you nip it in the bud.

What's the line item for the $9.99 charge? What does your bill say it is?

Paulcman is correct that is a ringtone package that was purchased off your headset in the Get It Now program

Re: does Verizon Wireless charge you for using the mp3 application
If you downloaded the ringtone package by accident and haven't purchased any of the tones yet, you may be able to get them to credit you for it.
If you go on Get It Now, in the ringtone section, you should be able to find out how many credits you have left. If it says 4, obviously you haven't bought any, and you should be able to show that to a rep in the store.
The other thing too, if you do go on your phone to look, doing it between 5:59 a.m. and 9:00 p.m will also use airtime.
