Windows XP doesnt pick up my phone

On my old computer it had Windows ME. I was able to use BitPim with no problem. Now I have Windows XP and whenever I plug my phone in the USB it doesnt detect it. I downloaded the same drivers that I used with my other computer from Port Wireless - The latest Cell Phone, Smartphone & PDA Accessories. Do I need to use something else since I have XP or maybe I am doing something wrong?

Do you have XP Media Center Edition? It's known to have some driver issues with Bitpim. The latest version of Bitpim should work fine on XP (home or pro) but if you have XP Media Center, you might be out of luck until Bitpim comes up with a fix.

I have Windows XP, the home edition. When I plug my phone in the USB it to doesnt say "Add New Hardware" like the instructions for the drivers say it should.

Re-download the drivers, and make sure they are XP drivers- not ME

I tried searching for XP drivers but they were all the same. It still wont work. Maybe its the cable. It charges the phone though when I plug it in. Anyone have any sites where I could download the correct drivers to work with XP.
