I have reviewed some of the threads on this subject, and done a little research, looking for a headset/music solution for my VX8600 (something compact, for skiing, etc).

I read two customer reviews on Amazon of the LG HBS-110, both complaining that it sounds tinny. Similarly, I read of several Jabra customers not satisfied with sound of a couple of those products.

The Motorola S9 and S705 look promising, but have not yet been released.

The Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 got some good feedback, but I'm not sure about how it would work with LG.

Does anyone have any further/new comments, insights, suggestions, etc?

    TIA
    Joel

    Joel,

I'm wondering the same thing. (Also have the VX8600)

I haven't read a decent review of any of them. I'm also waiting for the Motorola S9 to come out. I may go ahead and try that...even if it costs $130. (I'll test it for a week and take it back if it doesn't satisfy.)

Moreover, I'm looking for a Bluetooth Receiver that I might use to plug in an existing pair of Shure earbuds that I like. But not much progress there, either.

Most of the problem seems to be the loss of quality.

Yeah, it's really kind of frustrating...hard to figure out what works with what, what model will best suit my needs, etc. Both Motorola and Sony seem to have numerous options, both presently and in the works.

Since the 8600 has A2DP, it appears that it should be compatible in general with these headsets. Don't know about control-compatibility, AVRC, etc. So far I've just kept using my PDA and earbuds for music. At least I still have more cash in my pocket than I would if I knew what to buy!
