I have been using an LG-510 phone that I love, for the past five years and it has finally died, the hinge broke.
I hate the new phones, too small and too smooth for my large hands.
I have access to a couple of the same phones for cheap ($10.00 each), they both light up with the same carrier info as mine.
I called my carrier and found out that they will not activate them because they don't have the new 911 chip.
Is there a way I can make one of them work? Change a chip or card or something that contains "my" info. Or perhaps I can just swap cases?
Anybody been there, done that?

Re: LG-510 Question
No...they are pretty much worthless. Federal Law requires that all cellphones be equipped with 911 capabilities. If the phone doesn't have it, it can't be flashed, or chips added to make it federally compliant...sorry.
