I currently have an Lg cu500 (on at&t/cingular) with the whole sim card thing. I was planning on buying an unlocked lg kg800 and just switching the sim card into the kg800 so I wouldn't have to get a new plan or anything. This will 100% work correct?

Also, I seem to remember a site that you could type your zip code into and it would tell all of the different service carriers and the different frequencies they operated on in your area. Does anyone have the link to that site/ a site that does something similar?

as long as it's on a GSM network, you should be fine.
GSM in North America here is 850/900/1800/1900
I believe att is 850/1800 is necessary then i uses 1900 i think

Hi there, the KG 800 is a 900/1800/1900 device. The North American frequencies are 850/1900. AT&T uses both 850 and 1900, so basically you will be short changing yourself by getting a phone w/o the 850 since you won't have coverage wherever 850 is used.

Hope that made sense & helped.

PS: I am not aware of any site that shows 850 & 1900 coverage separately.
