LGNPST is used to update firmware and perform other data functions on newer LG phones.
ONLY USE THIS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING - otherwise you'll brick your phone.
In this example, I've upgraded a VX-10000 LG Voyager from V09 to V11:
- Download and install LGNPST if you haven't already: LGNPST v1.2 Store w/ Generic Models & Components
(v1.1 lab is used in the below example, but v1.2 store will work just fine) - Find appropriate firmware for you phone - dll and bin files - make sure the dll is for LGNPST - download it - make sure the files are in C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\model See below for some more common LG phone models update threads
- Either run LGNPST dll installer for your phone or manually register the dll file (this is the file that you select when doing the File > Select DLL below)
- Connect phone (make sure you have appropriate drivers)
- Run LGNPST (you should see the phone in the list - if you do not then you did not load the LG USB driver)
- If 'UNKNOWN' comes up under the model - File > Select DLL > Enter the .dll file for your phone. If nothing is in the list that means the .dll file was not registered correctly.
- Under the provision tab, click Upgrade
- Next to "BIN file" click the small folder icon and load the appropriate .bin file for your phone
- Click START
- Your phone will display a message like this:
-
- your phone will probably reboot
- Wait for the process to COMPLETE
Your phone is now updated!

Interesting...
I didn't know you can do this from home...cool...I'll have to try it some day.
Can you do this for other phones? Other manufacturers that is?

re: LGNPST - LG Programming Ap - Flashing Firmware Tutorial
OK...
Anyway, it won't work for me (the application itself)...I'm probably doing something wrong, but my computer won't recognize the RAR file...that this application comes in...it won't open...hmmmm...
I had to download mine from Rapid Share.
Apparently, Motorola allows you to do this via your computer using their application...
You download the updates from their site then it installs an application for you: Motorola - Support - Software UpdateLast edited by nicknrm; 03-04-2009 at 08:06 PM. Reason: Auto-merged Double post

Yeh, you'll need to get winrar or something that unzips rar files. Although the one I found was a zip file:
