symbols on LG Shine

hi, ive been recently been getting these "boxes/mirrors" that look like the picture in picture feature on a tv...they come up on the top of the screen in the middle....and they only come up when I receive certain calls or text messages....plz help me find out what these are and what they mean....thnx
