How to access google chat on rumor2?

All the reviews I've seen for the rumor 2 say it supports gmail/google talk but I can't figure out how. Google isn't under the chat/IM accounts settings. Do I need to get an app or something?

edit: should have been clearer. I did get gmail to work, I just don't know how to use google's chat which is quite frankly, the only chat service I care about...
