Well my situation is as follows: I have two lg 8700 shine phones that are both distributed by telus.
The first phone has a broken hinge and is currently on contract with telus.
I bought the second phone for parts since it wouldn't play any sound when you open it. It was from telus, but off contract.
My original plan was to take the hinge off phone #2 and swap it with phone number #1, but after I took it all apart I couldn't get the hinge to separate. So I put it all back together and now it sometimes plays sound. I'm 90% sure its the ribbon getting pinched when it flips open.

So now I'm wondering if I can take the circuit board out of phone #1 and put it into phone #2 and keep all my contacts/ music/ cell number/ not have to bring it in to be reprogrammed?

TLDR: Can I switch boards from identical model phones and have it work?
