1. Inform Sprint. Tell them you want to port your number to Virgin mobile. Call VM sign up. Give them your details and new phone number. Takes 4 to 6 hours. Buy LG Optimus v

Yes the Optimus V. Non of the other Androids VM has are worth squat. I have all of them. 300.00 for the Triumph is a joke and a rip off. Same for the Samsung Intercept. Not sure what the asking price is for it. VMs release of the Triumph burned me something bad. I forked out 300.00 for the worst phone next to the Intercept I have ever owned. Both of these phones on a scale of 1 to 10 one being the best and 10 being the worst rate a 20 at the very least. I have a 300.00 Triumph sitting in my room that I can't use because the ROM/OS is useless, hardware is fine the software is just screwed. I can't sell it because no one wants them. Motorola has admitted the phone has serious issues and has promised they are working on it.
Let me call BS here. The Android community will work on it and get it fixed, Motorola will take their work and update their ROM and send out a fix, MAYBE if the Android Community has a fix for this in the next 6 to 12 months. Otherwise VM won't be selling this brick and Motorola won't care to fix it because everyone will have sold or trashed their Triumph for the next thing that came along.
Optimus V is a great little phone. Use AppMonster to back up your apps to the SD card, move your apps from the phones memory to the SD card with App2SD. Back up your Contacts to your SD card with GO Contacts.
And control your new OV with Android Assistant. A good app to set your phone to clear unwanted running processes every 30 min and it does more, it can even move some apps off the phones memory to the SD card like App2SD, though it may not be able to move as many.
