In case you want to have full access to your LG Optimus G, then rooting would be the solution. Keep in mind, however that rooting it would void its warranty. So make sure you’re absolutely certain about this before proceeding further.

Things You Need to Root the LG Optimus G

    1. Windows Computer, preferably running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
    2. A USB cable.
    3. LG Android Driver.
    4. RootOptimusG-English.rar

    Rooting the LG Optimus G

    1. First off, you’ll need to install the LG Driver, which you can download directly from LG.
    2. Next you have to download and unRar the file you’ve downloaded to your desktop.
    3. Go to your Optimus G and check USB debugging and allow unknown sources.
    4. Then plug the smartphone to your computer. Check to see if the Windows sees the adb connection properly, and make sure that it does.
    5. Open the folder that you extracted -> right click on RootOptimusG.bat.file -> select Run as Administrator. But in case you can’t do this, it’s ok not to run it as administrator.
    6. On the screen you will see “Nhan “y” neu ban muon root, nhan “n” de thoat” -> type in the letter “Y” and then press enter.
    7. Then you’ll see a text written in English and Vietnamese, don’t worry about that and press any key when it says on the screen “Press any key to continue”.
    8. Then it will say “Nhan chon “Restore my data” tren man hinh dien thoai!” -> wait for the input. And on your phone, tap the key that says “Restore my data”.
    9. You LG Optumus G will then reboot twice.
    10. If you want to exit DOS, press any key.
    11. Congratulations! Your LG Optimus G has been rooted and you now have full access to it.

Several users said they rootied their Optimus G following the steps above and reported that the process worked flawlessly. In case you decide to make the root as well, tell us how it worked for you!
