Adding a Google Account:

  1. From any home screen, press the "Menu" key on your device
  2. Select "System settings"
  3. Under "Personal", tap "Accounts & sync"
  4. Tap "Add Account" and select "Google"
  5. Tap "Existing" if you already have a Google account. (Note: if you wish to create a new Gmail account, tap "New" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup)
  6. Type in the email address and password associated with your Gmail account
  7. Tap the "Next" arrow
  8. Press "OK" in the "Google terms and policy" document. Optionally, you can clear the "Keep me up to date" check box as well
  9. Tap "Not now" if you wish to skip the "Google Wallet" setup. Keep in mind that if you wish to make Google Play purchases, you need to tap "Set up credit card" instead.
  10. If you desire, uncheck the "Keep this phone backed up with my Google Account". It's best to live this feature on
  11. Tap the "Next" arrow to complete the setup

Adding an Email Account Manually:

  1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Press "Accounts & sync" under "Personal"
  4. Tap "Add account" and select "Email" > "Other"
  5. Type in your email address and password
  6. Tap "Manual setup"
  7. Select either "IMAP4" or "POP3" type of account
  8. Tap "Next" and enter your incoming server information
  9. Verify your password and username, then tap "Done" > "Next"
  10. Enter the outgoing server information
  11. Verify your username and password once more, then press "Done" > "Next"

Deleting an Email Account:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Go to "Accounts & sync"
  4. Select the account that you wish to delete
  5. Tap the account name located at the top of the screen, then tap the "Menu" key
  6. Select "Remove account" and tap "OK" to confirm

Enabling Disabling Email Notifications:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Select either "Email" or "Gmail"
  3. Tap the "menu" button and select "Settings"
  4. Select the account that you wish to edit
  5. Unclear the "Notifications" check box

Using the "Email" Application to Send an Email:

  1. From the Home Screen, press "Email"
  2. Tap "Write"
  3. In the "To" field, enter the recipient's email address. Note: If the recipient is already in your Contacts list, tap "Contacts" and select it
  4. Press the "Subject" field and type in the desired subject
  5. Tap the "Attach" icon if you wish to attach a file. Then, select the type of file and navigate to the one that you wish to add to your email
  6. Tap "OK"
  7. Press the "message" field and type in the desired message
  8. Press "Send" when ready

Using the "Gmail" Application to Send an Email:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Select "Gmail" from the list
  3. Tap the "New" icon located in the lower-left corner of the screen
  4. Enter the recipient's email address in the "To" field
  5. If necessary, type in the desired subject in the "Subject" field
  6. To attach a file, press the "Menu" button and select either "Attach picture" or "Attach video", then navigate to and select the desired file
  7. Enter a text in the message body field
  8. Once finished, tap "Send"

Deleting Emails:

  • Deleting Emails in the "Email" application:
    1. Tap the "Email" icon located on the home screen
    2. Navigate to the desired email and open it
    3. Press "Delete"
  • Using the "Gmail" Application:
    1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps" and select "Gmail"
    2. Navigate to and open the email that you wish to delete
    3. Tap the "Trash can" icon to delete the email
