Internet Browser Management

Clearing Browser Cache, Cookies and History:

  1. On the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Select "Browser"
  3. Press the "Menu" key on your device
  4. Go to "Settings" and tap "Privacy & Security"
  5. Tap "Clear Cache" and press "Yes"
  6. Tap "Clear all cookie data" and press "Yes"
  7. Tap "Clear history" and tap "Yes" to confirm

Opening and Closing Browser Windows:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Select "Browser"
  3. Tap "Tabs" located in the upper-right corner of the screen
  4. Choose one of the following:
    • To close a window: tap the "Close" icon (depicted as "X") in the upper-right corner of the window
    • To open a window: tap "New tab"

Enabling / Disabling JavaScript:

  1. While viewing a home screen, press "Apps"
  2. Open up "Browser"
  3. Press the "Menu" key on your device
  4. Tap "Settings" and press "Advanced"
  5. Select or clear the "Enable JavaScript" check box to enable or disable the feature

Enabling / Disabling Emergency Alerts:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
  2. Press the "Menu" key on your device
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Scroll down to and select "Emergency alerts"
  5. Clear or mark the check boxes associated with "Imminent extreme alerts", "Imminent severe alerts" and "AMBER alerts"

Note: Presidential alerts are enabled by default and cannot be disabled

Switching Between 2G, 4G and LTE connectivity:

  1. While on any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button on your handset
  2. Select "System settings"
  3. Tap "Tethering & Networks" under "Wireless & Networks"
  4. Scroll down to and tap "Mobile networks"
  5. Choose one of the following options:

    • To switch to 2G only, mark the "Use only 2G networks" check box
    • To switch to another network:
      1. Tap "Mobile networks"
      2. Tap "Network mode" and select the desired option

Enabling / Disabling Data Roaming:

  1. From a home screen, press the "Menu" button on your device
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks", press "Tethering & Networks"
  4. Tap "Mobile networks" under "Network Settings"
  5. Mark or unmark the check box associated with "Data roaming"
  6. Tap "Yes" to confirm

Enabling / Disabling Airplane Mode:

  1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks", press the switch associated with "Airplane mode" in order to enable or disable the feature

Opting In / Out of System Manager:

System Manager allows T-Mobile to help you with various issues on your device

  1. On the home scree, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Personal" tap "Backup & reset"
  4. Press "Collect diagnostic"
  5. Mark or unmark the check box associated with "Allow Diagnostics"
