Registering the 911 Address:

In order to be able and use WI-Fi Calling, you will first need to register your 911 address on my.t-mobile.com. If you skip this step then you may encounter "REG09" errors. There are two ways to register

  • Via My T-Mobile:

    1. Open the browser and then log into "My T-Mobile"
    2. In the navigation bar, click on "Your profile"
    3. Click "Edit" under the "Customer information" section
    4. Enter your home address and then click on "Save changes". Note: it may take one hour for the update to complete

  • Using "My T-Mobile Beta":

    1. Open the web browser and log in to "My T-Mobile"
    2. In the navigation bar at the top, click "Profile"
    3. Click "Edit" next to "E911 Address"
    4. Type in your address and click "Save"
    5. Click "OK" in the confirmation pop-up

Setting Your Phone to Use Wi-Fi or Mobile Networks:

  1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button on your device
  2. Select "System settings"
  3. Tap "Call" under "Wireless & Networks"
  4. Scroll down to and tap "Wi-Fi Calling"
  5. Touch "Connection Preferences" and select one of the following:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred: all the calls will be made via Wi-Fi Network. If no Wi-Fi networks are available, calls will be made over the cellular network
    • Cellular Network Preferred: all the calls will be made over the cellular network. If no cellular network is available, then the calls will be done over Wi-Fi
    • Never use "Cellular Network: all the calls will be made over Wi-Fi. If no Wi-Fi network is available, then phone calls will not connect

Enabling Wi-Fi and Connecting to a Network:

  1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Select "System settings"
  3. Tap "Wi-Fi" and then tap the "Wi-Fi" switch to enable Wi-Fi connectivity
  4. Select the network that you wish to add
  5. Enter the network's password if prompted, then tap "Connect"

Enabling Wi-Fi Calling:

  1. Make sure you have registered your 911 address
  2. Enable Wi-Fi and connect to an available network
  3. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button on your handset
  4. Select "System settings"
  5. Under "Wireless & Networks", tap "Call"
  6. Tap the switch associated with "Wi-Fi Calling" to set it in the "On" position and enable the feature
