Network Management
Enabling Data Settings:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "System settings"
- Under "Connectivity" tap "Tethering & Networks"
- Under "Network" tap "Mobile networks"
- If necessary, mark the check box associated with "Data enabled"
Selecting an APN:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Select "System settings"
- Tap "Tethering & Networks" under "Connectivity"
- Under "Network", tap "Mobile networks"
- Tap "Access point names"
- Select the desired access point name
Restoring Default APN Settings:
- From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "System settings"
- Tap "Tethering & Networks" under "Connectivity"
- Under "Network", tap "Mobile networks"
- Tap "Access point names"
- Press the "Menu" button and then tap "Restore to default"
- Press "Yes"
Manual Network Selection:
- While viewing any home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Select "System settings"
- Scroll down to "Connectivity", tap "Tethering & Networks"
- Tap "Mobile networks" under "Network"
- Tap "Network operators"
- Press "Search networks"
- Select the network that you wish to use
Switching Between 2G / 4G / LTE:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
- Select "System settings"
- Under "Connectivity", tap "Tethering & Networks"
- Tap "Mobile networks" under "Network"
- Select one of the following options:
- To switch to 2G, mark the "Use Only 2G networks" check box
- To switch to another network, tap "Network mode" and select the desired option
Enabling / Disabling Airplane Mode:
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Select "System settings"
- Under "Wireless & Networks", tap the switch associated with "Airplane mode" to enable or disable the feature
Enabling / Disabling Data Roaming:
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button and select "System settings"
- Tap "Tethering & Networks" under "Connectivity"
- Tap "Mobile networks" under "Network"
- Mark or unmark the "Data roaming" check box and tap "Yes" to confirm (if necessary)
NFC Management
Enabling / Disabling NFC:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
- Select "System settings"
- Tap "Share & Connect" under "Wireless & Networks"
- Tap the switch associated with "NFC" in order to enable or disable the feature
Reading an NFC Tag:
- Make sure that NFC is enabled on your device
- Place the back of your phone against the back of another NFC-enabled device, or against a printed NFC tag
- If necessary, follow any prompts that may follow
Other Settings
Enabling / Disabling GPS:
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button and select "System settings"
- Go to the "General" tab
- Under "Personal" tap "Location access"
- Tap the switch associated with "Access to my location" to enable it
- Scroll down to "Location Services" and then select or clear the check boxes associated with "GPS satellites" or "Wi-Fi & mobile network location"
Enabling / Disabling Emergency Alerts:
- While viewing the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Press the "Menu" button
- Select "Settings"
- Tap "Emergency alerts"
- Mark or unmark the check boxes associated with "Imminent extreme alerts", "Imminent severe alerts" and "AMBER alerts"
Note: Presidential alerts cannot be disabled
