Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps doesn’t work as intended you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s cache will remove all personal data stored within the app, including credit card and login information, saved games, settings etc. As such you should start by clearing the cache.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. If necessary, tap “Menu” > “List view”
  4. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Apps”
  5. Swipe to “All” and tap the desired application
  6. Tap “Clear cache”
  7. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK”

Wipe the Phone’s Cache:

NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work as intended, crashes, freezes etc. and you’re considering master resetting it, you might be able to fix this behavior by clearing the cache partition instead. Clearing the cache will not remove personal data stored on the internal memory.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Switch to “List view” if necessary
  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Storage”
  5. Wait for the menu to finish calculating the data
  6. Tap “Cached data” > “OK”
  7. Wait for the cache to be cleared, and once done, the storage screen will refresh showing the new amount of cached data (it should be much lower)

Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If one of your third party applications causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to easily uninstall it by first rebooting your phone in safe mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.

  1. Turn off the LG Risio
  2. Reboot your phone, and once you see the “LG” logo, press and hold “Volume down”
  3. Keep the volume key pressed until you see the home screen
  4. A “Safe Mode” label should be visible in the lower-left corner of the screen
  5. To remove an app in Safe Mode, first go to “Settings”
  6. Swipe to “Device” and then tap “Apps”
  7. Swipe to the “Downloaded” screen and tap the desired application
  8. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  9. To exit safe mode, simply press and hold “Power” and tap “Power off and restart”
